A regional airline was facing a critical AOG situation across multiple aircraft due to a failing flight control computer. The original manufacturer no longer supported the unit, and no replacement parts were available. The only alternative presented was a multi-million dollar fleet-wide avionics upgrade.
Addison Avionics was contacted as a last resort. Leveraging our authorization to develop solutions for older or outdated avionics, our engineering team created a unique DER (Designated Engineering Representative) repair specification. This FAA-approved data allowed us to perform a component-level repair on the existing computers, restoring them to full, airworthy condition. This project saved the client from an extremely costly upgrade and extended the operational life of their fleet.
